Leather Care
All Unseelie Workshop pieces are crafted from full-grain and premium leather. With proper care, your piece will develop a rich patina and last for many years.
- Condition your leather every 3–6 months using a high-quality, pH-neutral leather conditioner.
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade and dry out the leather.
- Allow the leather to dry naturally if it gets wet — never use direct heat.
- Store flat or loosely coiled, never tightly folded, to avoid permanent creasing.
Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, a soft dry cloth is usually all you need. For more stubborn marks:
- Use a slightly damp cloth with a small amount of mild, unscented soap.
- Work gently in circular motions and wipe clean with a dry cloth.
- Never submerge leather in water or use household cleaning products.
- Allow to air dry fully before conditioning or storing.
Hardware
Our hardware is solid brass or nickel plated. To maintain its finish:
- Wipe hardware dry after any moisture exposure to prevent tarnishing.
- A soft polishing cloth will restore shine to brass fittings over time.
- Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals.
Suede Lining
Pieces with suede lining require a little extra care on the interior:
- Use a suede brush to gently lift the nap if it becomes flattened.
- Avoid moisture on suede where possible — if wet, allow to dry naturally and brush once dry.
- Store pieces with the lining protected from dust.
Storage
When not in use, store your pieces in a cool, dry place away from direct light. A cotton dust bag is ideal. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture and can cause mildew.
